In New York State, self-storage owners and operators must provide an Affirmation and Bill of Sale to get paid for unpaid storage of a vehicle or boat. This rule is enforced by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
For compensation for unpaid storage of a vehicle or boat, the storage operator must provide the Affirmation to the DMV.
