Waxing License

You need a license to offer wax or hair removal services. This license comes from the New York State Department of State (NYSDOS).

• You must pass a test.
• If you have five years of experience, you might not need to take the test.

Rules are in place to protect workers. Read "Waxing-Important Information" and "Nail Salon Safety - What You Need to Know" for more details. Businesses that break these rules will be punished.
